चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स ने रविवार को भारत के पूर्व हरफनमौला सुरेश रैना और आस्ट्रेलिया के महान बल्लेबाज मैथ्यू हेडन को टीम के पहले ‘हाल आफ फेम’ में शामिल किया।
यह घोषणा एम ए चिदंबरम स्टेडियम पर टीम के प्रशंसकों के लिये विशेष कार्यक्रम ‘ रोअर 26’ के दौरान की गई।
रैना 2008 से 2021 तक चेन्नई टीम का हिस्सा थे।
वह चार बार आईपीएल में चेन्नई की विजेता टीम (2010, 2011, 2018 और 2021)के सदस्य रहे।
प्रशंसकों के बीच ‘चिन्ना थाला’ के नाम से मशहूर रैना 2010 और 2014 में चैम्पियंस लीग जीतने वाली चेन्नई टीम में भी थे और 2014 में ‘प्लेयर आफ द टूर्नामेंट’ रहे थे।
चेन्नई के लिये उन्होंने सर्वाधिक 5529 रन बनाये हैं।
हेडन 2008 से 2010 तक चेन्नई टीम में थे। उन्होंने 2009 में 572 रन बनाकर आरेंज कैप हासिल की थी।
इस मौके पर चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के कई पूर्व खिलाड़ी मौजूद थे।
