आईपीएल 2026 में मुंबई इंडियंस का सफर लगभग खत्म हो चुका है, लेकिन टीम के सामने अब भी अपनी प्रतिष्ठा बचाने की चुनौती बनी हुई है। इसी बीच मुंबई इंडियंस के कप्तान हार्दिक पांड्या को लेकर नई चर्चा शुरू हो गई है। पंजाब किंग्स के खिलाफ 14 मई को धर्मशाला के हिमाचल प्रदेश क्रिकेट संघ स्टेडियम में होने वाले मुकाबले से पहले हार्दिक टीम के साथ यात्रा करते नजर नहीं आए, जिसके बाद उनकी फिटनेस और उपलब्धता को लेकर सवाल उठने लगे हैं।
बता दें कि हार्दिक पांड्या पिछले दो मुकाबले पीठ में ऐंठन की समस्या के कारण नहीं खेल पाए थे। हालांकि, मुंबई इंडियंस प्रबंधन की ओर से अभी तक उनकी फिटनेस को लेकर कोई आधिकारिक जानकारी साझा नहीं की गई है। वहीं मौजूद जानकारी के अनुसार हार्दिक ने अपने सामाजिक माध्यम खाते पर एक वीडियो साझा किया, जिसमें वह अभ्यास सत्र के दौरान बल्लेबाजी करते दिखाई दिए। इससे यह संकेत जरूर मिला है कि वह धीरे-धीरे फिटनेस हासिल करने की कोशिश में जुटे हुए हैं।
गौरतलब है कि मुंबई इंडियंस के लिए यह सत्र उम्मीदों के मुताबिक नहीं रहा है। कई बड़े खिलाड़ियों के बावजूद टीम लगातार संतुलन तलाशती रही और प्लेऑफ की दौड़ से बाहर हो गई। ऐसे में अब टीम के बाकी मुकाबलों को भविष्य की तैयारी के तौर पर देखा जा रहा है।
इसी बीच भारत के पूर्व कप्तान सुनील गावस्कर ने भी मुंबई इंडियंस को सलाह दी है कि बचे हुए मुकाबलों में युवा खिलाड़ियों को ज्यादा अवसर दिए जाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि सत्र के इस चरण में वरिष्ठ खिलाड़ी अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ दे चुके हैं और अब फ्रेंचाइजी को यह समझने की जरूरत है कि युवा खिलाड़ी दबाव में कैसा प्रदर्शन करते हैं। सुनील गावस्कर का मानना है कि इससे टीम को अगले सत्र के लिए बेहतर संयोजन तैयार करने में मदद मिलेगी।
दूसरी तरफ पंजाब किंग्स के लिए यह मुकाबला बेहद अहम माना जा रहा है। श्रेयस अय्यर की कप्तानी वाली पंजाब टीम लगातार चार मुकाबले हार चुकी है और अंक तालिका में शीर्ष दो स्थानों की दौड़ में बने रहने के लिए उसे हर हाल में जीत की जरूरत है। ऐसे में धर्मशाला में होने वाला यह मुकाबला दोनों टीमों के लिए अलग-अलग कारणों से काफी महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
मुंबई इंडियंस जहां सम्मान बचाने के इरादे से मैदान पर उतरेगी, वहीं पंजाब किंग्स जीत के साथ वापसी कर प्लेऑफ की राह मजबूत करना चाहेगी। अब सभी की नजरें हार्दिक पांड्या की फिटनेस और अंतिम एकादश पर बनी हुई हैं।
