भारत के युवा तेज गेंदबाज गुरनूर बरार ने अफगानिस्तान के खिलाफ दूसरे वनडे में शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए रिकॉर्ड बुक में अपनी जगह बनाई। लखनऊ में खेले गए मुकाबले में गुरनूर ने 10 ओवर में 60 रन देकर 3 विकेट लिए और इसके साथ ही वह अपने पहले दो वनडे में 3-3 विकेट लेने वाले भारत के सिर्फ दूसरे गेंदबाज बन गए।
26 साल के पंजाब के इस तेज गेंदबाज ने अफगानिस्तान की पारी के दौरान शुरुआत में ही बड़ा झटका दिया। उन्होंने आठवें ओवर की तीसरी गेंद पर खतरनाक बल्लेबाज रहमानुल्लाह गुरबाज को आउट किया। इसके बाद कप्तान हश्मतुल्लाह शाहिदी को बोल्ड किया और फिर 40वें ओवर की आखिरी गेंद पर मोहम्मद सलीम सफी का विकेट लेकर अपना तीसरा शिकार पूरा किया।

अब तक गुरनूर बरार ने अपने वनडे करियर में 6 विकेट लिए हैं। इनमें इब्राहिम जादरान, राशिद खान, जिया उर रहमान शरीफी, रहमानुल्लाह गुरबाज, हश्मतुल्लाह शाहिदी और मोहम्मद सलीम सफी जैसे बल्लेबाज शामिल हैं।
हालांकि वनडे डेब्यू पर भारत की ओर से सर्वश्रेष्ठ गेंदबाजी का रिकॉर्ड प्रसिद्ध कृष्णा के नाम है। उन्होंने 2021 में इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ पुणे में अपने पहले वनडे में 4 विकेट लिए थे। लेकिन अगले मैच में वह सिर्फ दो विकेट ही ले पाए थे, जबकि गुरनूर लगातार दोनों मुकाबलों में तीन-तीन विकेट लेने में सफल रहे।
इस बीच भारत ने दूसरे वनडे में एक और युवा खिलाड़ी प्रिंस यादव को डेब्यू का मौका दिया। लखनऊ सुपर जायंट्स के इस तेज गेंदबाज ने 7.3 ओवर में 56 रन देकर 2 विकेट हासिल किए।
गुरनूर बरार की लगातार प्रभावशाली गेंदबाजी ने टीम इंडिया को भविष्य के लिए एक नया तेज गेंदबाज दे दिया। अगर वह इसी लय को बरकरार रखते हैं तो आने वाले बड़े टूर्नामेंट में भी भारतीय टीम के लिए मजबूत दावेदार बन सकते।
