पाकिस्तान ने जापान के आइची-नागोया में होने वाले एशियाई खेलों की पुरुषों की टी20 क्रिकेट प्रतियोगिता के लिए बुधवार को सलामी बल्लेबाज साहिबजादा फरहान की अगुआई में 15 सदस्यीय टीम की घोषणा की जिसमें अधिकतर खिलाड़ी अनुभवहीन हैं।
टीम में बाबर आजम, मोहम्मद रिजवान, शाहीन शाह अफरीदी, हारिस राऊफ और शादाब खान जैसे सीनियर स्टार खिलाड़ियों को शामिल नहीं किया गया है।
फरहान पहली बार किसी अंतरराष्ट्रीय टूर्नामेंट में पाकिस्तान की कप्तानी करेंगे।
पांच टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेलने वाले अब्दुल समद को उप कप्तान बनाया गया है।
टीम में शामिल अबरार अहमद, उस्मान खान और सईम अयूब ने ही हाल में पर्याप्त अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट खेला है।
टीम के चार सदस्यों आकिफ जावेद, अली रजा, माज सदाकत और साद मसूद ने अभी तक टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय में पदार्पण नहीं किया है।
एशियाई खेल 19 सितंबर से चार अक्टूबर तक आइची-नागोया में होंगे और 10 टीम वाला पुरुषों का टी20 टूर्नामेंट 24 सितंबर से तीन अक्टूबर तक आइची प्रांत के कोरोगी एथलेटिक पार्क में खेला जाएगा।
यह टूर्नामेंट 2028 लॉस एंजिलिस ओलंपिक में क्रिकेट के प्रवेश के लिए क्वालीफिकेशन का जरिया बन सकता है।
चुने गए 15 खिलाड़ियों में से 14 खिलाड़ी राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट अकादमी के सीमित ओवरों के शिविर का भी हिस्सा हैं जो 15 जून से लाहौर में शुरू हो रहा है।
टीम इस प्रकार है:
साहिबजादा फरहान (कप्तान), अब्दुल समद, अबरार अहमद, अहमद दानियाल, आकिफ जावेद, अली रजा, अराफात मन्हास, हैदर अली, हसन नवाज, माज सदाकत, मोहम्मद सलमान मिर्जा, साद मसूद, सईम अयूब, सुफियान मोकिम और उस्मान खान।
