पूर्व भारतीय क्रिकेटर सलील अंकोला इन दिनों गंभीर अवसाद से जूझ रहे हैं और उन्होंने पुणे के पास एक मानसिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र में खुद को भर्ती कराया है।
बता दें कि उनकी पत्नी रिया अंकोला के अनुसार, सलील अपनी मां के निधन के बाद से काफी परेशान थे। गौरतलब है कि उनकी मां का निधन वर्ष 2024 में हुआ था, जिसके बाद वह इस दुख से उबर नहीं पा रहे थे। रिया ने बताया कि लगातार मानसिक दबाव और स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं के चलते उन्होंने इलाज के लिए यह कदम उठाया है।
मौजूद जानकारी के अनुसार, सलील अंकोला ने खुद महसूस किया कि वह बार-बार बीमार पड़ रहे हैं और मानसिक रूप से कमजोर हो रहे हैं, जिसके बाद उन्होंने शांत वातावरण में इलाज कराने का फैसला किया। जानकारों का मानना है कि लंबे समय तक दुख और तनाव रहने पर मानसिक स्वास्थ्य पर गहरा असर पड़ता है, ऐसे में समय पर उपचार जरूरी हो जाता है।
बता दें कि सलील अंकोला भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के लिए 1989 से 1997 के बीच खेले थे। उन्होंने एक टेस्ट और 20 एकदिवसीय मुकाबलों में देश का प्रतिनिधित्व किया और कुल 15 विकेट हासिल किए थे। बता दें कि उनका अंतरराष्ट्रीय पदार्पण महान बल्लेबाज सचिन तेंदुलकर और पाकिस्तान के तेज गेंदबाज वकार यूनुस के साथ 1989 में कराची में हुआ था।
घरेलू क्रिकेट में भी उनका प्रदर्शन काफी अच्छा रहा। मौजूद जानकारी के अनुसार, उन्होंने महाराष्ट्र और मुंबई के लिए खेलते हुए 54 प्रथम श्रेणी मैचों में 181 विकेट लिए, जबकि 75 सूची-ए मुकाबलों में 70 विकेट अपने नाम किए। हालांकि बाद में ठोड़ी में ट्यूमर की समस्या के कारण उनका क्रिकेट करियर जल्दी समाप्त हो गया और उन्होंने अभिनय की दुनिया में कदम रखा।
यह मामला एक बार फिर इस बात को सामने लाता है कि खेल जगत के बड़े नाम भी मानसिक स्वास्थ्य जैसी चुनौतियों से अछूते नहीं हैं। विशेषज्ञ लगातार इस बात पर जोर देते हैं कि मानसिक स्वास्थ्य को लेकर खुलकर बात करना और समय पर मदद लेना बेहद जरूरी है, ताकि व्यक्ति सामान्य जीवन की ओर लौट सके हैं।
