जन्म और परिवार महाराष्ट्र के नागपुर में 30 अप्रैल 1987 को रोहित शर्मा का जन्म हुआ था। इनके पिता का नाम गुरुनाथ शर्मा और मां का नाम पूर्णिमा शर्मा है। इनके पिता एक ट्रांसपोर्ट कंपनी में केयरटेकर के रूप में काम करते थे। वहीं रोहित को मुंबई में क्रिकेट का ककहरा कोच दिनेश लाड ने सिखाया था।
क्रिकेट करियर अगर रोहित शर्मा के क्रिकेट करियर की बात करें, तो वह बहुत शानदार रहा है। यही वजह है कि रोहित वनडे क्रिकेट के महान ओपनर बल्लेबाजों में गिने जाते हैं। रोहिन ने भारत के लिए 282 वनडे मैचों में 48.85 की औसत से 11577 रन बनाए हैं। जिनमें 33 शतक और 61 अर्धशतक शामिल हैं। वहीं टेस्ट मैच की बात करें, तो रोहित ने कुल 67 मैच खेले, जिनमें 4301 रन हैं। रोहित ने मई 2025 में टेस्ट से संन्यास का ऐलान किया था।
टी20 इंटरनेशनल में रोहित शर्मा ने 159 मैचों में 4,231 रन बनाए और इस फॉर्मेट में रोहित 5 शतक लगाने वाले पहले बल्लेबाज हैं। उन्होंने साल 2024 में टी20 विश्वकप के बाद इस फॉर्मेट से भी संन्यास ले लिया था। इसके अलावा आईपीएल में भी रोहित शर्मा ने धूम मचाया है। रोहित शर्मा ने अपनी कप्तानी में मुंबई इंडियंस को पांच बार चैंपियन बनाया है।
रोहित शर्मा के रिकॉर्ड्स रोहित शर्मा के नाम वनडे क्रिकेट में तीन दोहरा शतक दर्ज है। ऐसा दुनिया में रोहित के अलावा कोई और नहीं कर पाया है। वनडे में रोहित शर्मा का सबसे बड़ा स्कोर 264 रन बनाने का रिकॉर्ड है, जोकि आज तक नहीं टूट पाया है। तीनों फॉर्मेट को मिलाकर सबसे ज्यादा छक्के लगाने का रिकॉर्ड रोहित शर्मा के नाम है।
