टी20 वर्ल्ड कप 2026 के सेमीफाइनल में इंग्लैंड को 7 रन से हराकर भारत फाइनल में पहुंच गया है। वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में खेले गए इस रोमांचक मुकाबले में भारत ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 20 ओवर में 7 विकेट के नुकसान 253 रन बनाए, जिसके जवाब में इंग्लैंड ने जैकब बेथल की शतकीय पारी की बदौलत 20 ओवर में सात विकेट खोकर 246 रन बनाए। जैकब ने इस दौरान 105 रन की बेहतरीन पारी खेली।
भारत अब फाइनल में रविवार को न्यूजीलैंड से भिड़ेगा और टी20 विश्व का खिताब बचाने वाली पहली टीम बनकर इतिहास रचने की कोशिश करेगा। सैमसन ने इससे पहले 15 रन के स्कोर पर मिले जीवनदान का फायदा उठाते हुए 42 गेंद में सात छक्कों और आठ चौकों से 89 रन की पारी खेलने के अलावा इशान किशन (39 रन, 18 गेंद, चार चौके दो छक्के) के साथ दूसरे विकेट के लिए 45 गेंद में 97 और शिवम दुबे (43 रन, 25 गेंद, चार छक्के, एक चौका) के साथ तीसरे विकेट के लिए 22 गेंद में 43 रन की साझेदारी की जिससे भारत ने सात विकेट पर 253 रन बनाए जो टूर्नामेंट के इतिहास में नॉकआउट मुकाबलों का सर्वोच्च स्कोर है।
हार्दिक पंड्या (12 गेंद में 27 रन, तीन चौके, दो छक्के) और तिलक वर्मा (सात गेंद में 21 रन, तीन छक्के) ने अंत में ताबड़तोड़ बल्लेबाजी की। भारत की पारी में 19 छक्के लगे जो टीम का सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन है। इंग्लैंड की ओर से स्पिनरों विल जैक्स (40 रन पर दो विकेट) और आदिल राशिद (41 रन पर दो विकेट) ने दो-दो विकेट चटकाए। तेज गेंदबाजों जोफ्रा आर्चर और सैम कुरेन ने क्रमश: 61 और 53 रन लुटाए। आर्चर को एक विकेट मिला जबकि कुरेन की झोली खाली रही।
भारत के 254 रन के लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए इंग्लैंड की टीम बेथेल (105 रन, 48 गेंद, सात छक्के, आठ चौके) के शतक और विल जैक्स (35 रन, 20 गेंद, चार चौके, दो छक्के) के साथ उनकी पांचवें विकेट की 77 तथा सैम कुरेन (18) के साथ छठे विकेट की 50 रन की साझेदारी के बावजूद सात विकेट पर 246 रन ही बना सकी। भारत की ओर से हार्दिक पंड्या ने 38 रन देकर दो विकेट चटकाए। बुमराह ने चार ओवर में सिर्फ 33 रन देकर एक विकेट हासिल किया जो निर्णायक साबित हुआ। वरुण चक्रवर्ती ने 64 रन लुटाकर एक विकेट चटकाया जो इस प्रारूप में भारत की ओर से सबसे महंगे स्पैल है।
