गरीब आदमी बीमारी से लड़े या दवाओं की आसमान छूती कीमतों से? दवा के नाम पर भारी मुनाफा और मरीजों की जेब पर बोझ अब बड़ा सवाल बन गया है। उत्तर प्रदेश में अस्पतालों की फार्मेसी की जांच में कुछ दवाओं की MRP, खरीद कीमत से 67 गुना तक ज्यादा पाई गई। एक Polymyxin-B इंजेक्शन की खरीद कीमत करीब ₹74 थी, जबकि पैक पर MRP लगभग ₹4,981 दर्ज थी। इस मामले के बाद UP सरकार ने अस्पतालों की फार्मेसी में दवाओं की खरीद और बिक्री की कीमतें प्रदर्शित करने का निर्देश दिया है। 1 नवंबर से लागू होने वाली इस व्यवस्था का मकसद मरीजों को कीमतों में पारदर्शिता देना है। इसी बीच Supreme Court ने भी दवाओं की कीमतों और भारी Markup पर चिंता जताई है। सवाल है कि जब मरीज को इलाज के लिए हर हाल में दवा खरीदनी पड़ती है, तो उसे मनमानी कीमतों से राहत कौन देगा? Should patients have to fight both an illness and the high cost of medicines? A recent inspection by Uttar Pradesh’s Food Safety and Drug Administration found that the printed MRP of some medicines was as much as 67 times their hospital procurement price. One Polymyxin-B injection purchased for around ₹74 carried an MRP of nearly ₹4,981. Following the findings, the Uttar Pradesh government directed hospital pharmacies to display medicine procurement and selling prices from November 1, aiming to improve transparency for patients. The Supreme Court has also raised concerns about steep medicine markups and affordability.
