The organization said that the government’s order is an attack on their religious freedom. It described the government’s directive as one-sided and arbitrary. In a post on X, Jamiat President Maulana Arshad Madani said that Muslims do not stop anyone from singing or playing Vande Mataram, but some verses of the song portray the motherland as a deity.
