भारतीय क्रिकेट इस वक्त बदलाव के दौर से गुजर रहा है और टी20 वर्ल्ड कप 2026 से पहले हर फैसला बारीकी से परखा जा रहा है। हाल ही में बीसीसीआई ने 15 सदस्यीय टीम का ऐलान किया है, जो न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ होने वाली पांच मैचों की टी20 सीरीज़ भी खेलेगी। इसी के साथ कई बड़े नामों को बाहर रखने का फैसला चर्चा का विषय बन गया है।
गौरतलब है कि इस बार टीम से बाहर किए गए खिलाड़ियों में शुभमन गिल का नाम सबसे ज्यादा चौंकाने वाला रहा है। गिल को हालिया खराब फॉर्म की वजह से टीम से बाहर किया गया है। उपलब्ध आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, उन्होंने पिछले 15 टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैचों में 291 रन बनाए हैं, जिसमें उनका औसत 24 से थोड़ा ज्यादा और स्ट्राइक रेट करीब 137 रहा है। चयनकर्ताओं को यह प्रदर्शन अपेक्षा के अनुरूप नहीं लगा है।
इसी बीच पूर्व भारतीय बल्लेबाज आकाश चोपड़ा ने अपनी वैकल्पिक टी20 वर्ल्ड कप टीम का ऐलान कर सबका ध्यान खींचा है। उनकी टीम में ऋतुराज गायकवाड़, यशस्वी जायसवाल, श्रेयस अय्यर, ऋषभ पंत, जितेश शर्मा, नितीश कुमार रेड्डी, क्रुणाल पंड्या, दीपक चाहर, युजवेंद्र चहल, भुवनेश्वर कुमार, मोहम्मद शमी, मोहम्मद सिराज और केएल राहुल जैसे खिलाड़ी शामिल हैं। खास बात यह है कि इस टीम में भी शुभमन गिल को जगह नहीं मिली है।
बता दें कि गिल को इस साल इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ टेस्ट सीरीज़ में शानदार प्रदर्शन के बाद टी20 टीम में वापस लाया गया था। उन्होंने करीब एक साल बाद टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में वापसी की थी और उस दौरान संजू सैमसन को बाहर बैठना पड़ा था, जिस पर काफी सवाल भी उठे थे। अब हालात उलट गए हैं और चयनकर्ताओं ने इस बार सैमसन पर भरोसा जताया है।
मौजूद जानकारी के अनुसार, भारत और न्यूजीलैंड के बीच टी20 सीरीज़ 21 जनवरी से शुरू होकर 31 जनवरी तक चलेगी। इसके ठीक छह दिन बाद 7 फरवरी को भारत अपने टी20 वर्ल्ड कप अभियान की शुरुआत अमेरिका के खिलाफ वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में करेगा। ऐसे में यह सीरीज़ खिलाड़ियों के लिए आखिरी परीक्षा मानी जा रही है, जहां प्रदर्शन सीधे वर्ल्ड कप की तस्वीर तय करेगा।
