Republic Bharatभारत अपनी जरूरत के 90% से ज्यादा कच्चा तेल आयात करता है, जिसमें रूस का हिस्सा लगभग 50% है और वह डिस्काउंट पर मिलता है। अगर रूसी तेल की खरीद 50% घटा दी जाए तो भारत के सालाना ऑयल इंपोर्ट बिल में 5 से 10 बिलियन डॉलर का इजाफा हो सकता है। अर्थशास्त्री और पूर्व यूएन सलाहकार Santosh Mehrotra ने बताया कि इससे महंगाई (Inflation) में करीब 0.3 प्रतिशत अंक की बढ़ोतरी हो सकती है। सरकार अगर पेट्रोल-डीजल की कीमतें नहीं बढ़ाती तो बोझ खुद उठाएगी। India imports over 90% of its crude oil needs, with Russia accounting for nearly 50% of that — and at a significant discount.
