इनकम टैक्स रिटर्न दाखिल करना हर टैक्सपेयर की सालाना जिम्मेदारी है। हालांकि, रिटर्न भरते समय की गई छोटी-सी गलती भी आयकर विभाग की नजर में आ सकती और नोटिस का कारण बन सकती। कई बार लोग जल्दबाजी या जानकारी की कमी के कारण ऐसी गलतियां कर बैठते, जिससे रिटर्न प्रोसेस होने में देरी होती और अतिरिक्त परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ता।

विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि कुछ सामान्य गलतियों से बचकर टैक्सपेयर्स न केवल नोटिस से बच सकते, बल्कि अपने रिटर्न को भी सही और नियमों के अनुरूप दाखिल कर सकते ।

गलत ITR फॉर्म चुनना पड़ सकता है भारी
आईटीआर भरते समय सबसे आम गलती गलत फॉर्म का चयन करना है। आयकर विभाग ने अलग-अलग आय वर्ग और आय के स्रोतों के आधार पर कई प्रकार के ITR फॉर्म तय किए हैं। अगर किसी व्यक्ति की इनकम और वित्तीय प्रोफाइल उस फॉर्म के अनुरूप नहीं, जिसे उसने चुना है, तो उसका रिटर्न 'डिफेक्टिव रिटर्न' घोषित किया जा सकता। ऐसे मामलों में आयकर विभाग सफाई मांग सकता या नोटिस भेज सकता है।

समय पर आईटीआर दाखिल नहीं किया तो जुर्माना
इनकम टैक्स रिटर्न फाइल करने की तय समय सीमा चूकना भी बड़ी गलती मानी जाती। नियत तारीख के बाद रिटर्न भरने पर टैक्सपेयर को 5000 रुपये तक का जुर्माना देना पड़ सकता।

इसके अलावा उसे बिलेटेड रिटर्न दाखिल करना पड़ता है। ऐसी स्थिति में कारोबारी नुकसान और पूंजीगत नुकसान को अगले सालों में ले जाने की सुविधा खत्म हो सकती है। साथ ही बकाया टैक्स पर हर महीने 1 फीसदी ब्याज भी देना पड़ सकता ।

असेसमेंट ईयर और फाइनेंशियल ईयर में न करें भ्रम
कई लोग फाइनेंशियल ईयर (वित्त वर्ष) और असेसमेंट ईयर (आकलन वर्ष) को लेकर भ्रमित हो जाते। वित्त वर्ष वह होता है जिसमें आय अर्जित की जाती जबकि असेसमेंट ईयर वह होता है जिसमें उस आय का मूल्यांकन और कर निर्धारण किया जाता है। गलत असेसमेंट ईयर भरने से रिटर्न प्रोसेसिंग में देरी हो सकती और कुछ मामलों में विभाग की ओर से नोटिस भी जारी किया जा सकता।

कई टैक्सपेयर केवल अपनी सैलरी की आय घोषित करते हैं और बैंक ब्याज, किराया, फ्रीलांसिंग, शेयर बाजार या अन्य स्रोतों से हुई कमाई का जिक्र नहीं करते।आयकर विभाग के पास अलग-अलग स्रोतों से हासिल वित्तीय जानकारी पहले से उपलब्ध रहती है। ऐसे में घोषित आय और विभाग के रिकॉर्ड में अंतर मिलने पर नोटिस जारी हो सकता है।
