The tragedy claimed the lives of eight people—including Chartered Accountant (CA) Vivek Agarwal—comprising members of his immediate family and relatives. The family had traveled to Delhi to check on the well-being of their ailing elderly father, who was hospitalized there; however, within just a few hours, this visit turned into a heartbreaking tragedy. According to family members, Vivek Agarwal's father is currently admitted to Max Hospital in Delhi and is on ventilator support. Vivek had arrived in Delhi to visit him, accompanied by his mother, wife, two daughters, and other relatives.
