न्यूजीलैंड के स्टार खिलाड़ी रचिन रविंद्र, जो कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स की आईपीएल 2026 टीम का हिस्सा हैं, ने अपने बचे हुए तीन लीग मैचों से पहले कोलकाता स्थित फ्रेंचाइजी को छोड़ दिया है। शुक्रवार (15 मई) को केकेआर के आधिकारिक फेसबुक हैंडल पर साझा किए गए एक वीडियो में, रचिन को न्यूजीलैंड रवाना होने से पहले अपने साथियों से मिलते हुए देखा जा सकता है। वीडियो पोस्ट के कैप्शन में फ्रेंचाइजी द्वारा साझा की गई आधिकारिक जानकारी के अनुसार, रचिन राष्ट्रीय टीम की तैयारियों के लिए घर लौट रहे हैं।
वीडियो के कैप्शन में लिखा गया कि रचिन को राष्ट्रीय टीम की तैयारियों के लिए घर लौटने पर नाइट्स की ओर से शुभकामनाएं। न्यूजीलैंड अगले महीने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ तीन मैचों की टेस्ट सीरीज खेलने के लिए तैयार है। सीरीज का पहला मैच 4 से 8 जून तक लंदन के लॉर्ड्स में खेला जाएगा, और अगले दो टेस्ट मैच ओवल (17-21 जून) और ट्रेंट ब्रिज (25-29 जून) में होंगे। चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के लिए आईपीएल खेल चुके रचिन न्यूजीलैंड की टेस्ट टीम का हिस्सा हैं, जिसकी कप्तानी टॉम लैथम करेंगे।
हालांकि आईपीएल के मौजूदा सीजन में रचिन को केकेआर के लिए एक भी मैच खेलने का मौका नहीं मिला, लेकिन वे न्यूजीलैंड की टेस्ट टीम के अहम सदस्य हैं और लॉर्ड्स में इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ पहले टेस्ट में न्यूजीलैंड की टीम में उनका प्लेइंग इलेवन में होना तय है। 25 नवंबर, 2021 को कानपुर के ग्रीन पार्क में भारत के खिलाफ टेस्ट डेब्यू करने के बाद से रचिन न्यूजीलैंड के लिए अब तक 20 मैच खेल चुके हैं और 1526 रन बना चुके हैं। उन्होंने पांच दिवसीय फॉर्मेट में 11 बल्लेबाजों को आउट भी किया है। टेस्ट में रचिन न्यूजीलैंड के लिए नंबर 3 पर बल्लेबाजी करते हैं और इंग्लैंड के आगामी दौरे में उनसे काफी उम्मीदें हैं।
