भारतीय क्रिकेटरों ने विजडन अल्मनैक 2026 अवार्ड में अपना दबदबा बनाया है। इन पुरस्कारों में 9 में से 7 तो भारतीय खिलाड़ियों के नाम हैं। इनमें दीप्ति शर्मा को वर्ष की महिला क्रिकेटर और अभिषेक शर्मा को वर्ष का टी20 क्रिकेटर चुना गया।
शुभमन गिल, मोहम्मद सिराज, ऋषभ पंत और रविंद्र जडेजा को पिछले साल इंग्लैंड में हुई टेस्ट सीरीज में बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन करने के कारण विजडन के वर्ष के पांच क्रिकेटरों में शामिल किया गया है।
भारतीय क्रिकेटरों के अलावा जिन अन्य देशों के खिलाड़ियों को पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया है उनमें ऑस्ट्रेलिया के प्रमुख तेज गेंदबाज मिचेल स्टार्क शामिल हैं जिन्हें दुनिया का सर्वश्रेष्ठ पुरुष क्रिकेटर चुना गया। उनके अलावा इंग्लैंड के बल्लेबाज हसीब हमीद थे को भी चार भारतीय खिलाड़ियों के साथ वर्ष के पांच सर्वश्रेष्ठ क्रिकेटरों में भी शामिल किया गया है।
दीप्ति को ये सम्मान पिछले साल आईसीसी महिला वनडे वर्ल्ड कप में 22 विकेट लेने के लिए दिया गया। इस ऑलराउंडर के बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन से भारतीय महिला टीम ने मुंबई में खेले गए फाइनल में साउथ अफ्रीका को हराकर अपना पहला वैश्विक खिताब जीता था। दीप्ति ने 9 मैचों में 3 अर्धशतक की मदद से 215 रन भी बनाए थे।
इसके अलावा अभिषेक शर्मा ने 2025 के सत्र में बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन किया। इस सत्र में उन्होंने 21 मैचों में 193 के बेहतरीन स्ट्राइक रेट से 859 रन बनाए, जिसमें एक शतक और 5 अर्धशतक शामिल हैं।
पिछले साल टेस्ट सीरीज के लिए इंग्लैंड के दौरे के दौरान भारतीय टेस्ट कप्तान गिल ने बेहतरीन फॉर्म दिखाते हुए 754 रन बनाए और पांच मैचों की सीरीज को 2-2 से ड्रॉ कराने में अहम भूमिका निभाई।
