News18#whiskey #liquor #fssai FSSAI ने खाने पीने के सामान पर जो डंडा चलाया हुआ वो तो सब देख ही रहे हैं, लेकिन ये जो शराब पर मुहिम शुरू हुई है उसने तो शराबियों की आंखें भी खोलनी शुरू कर दी हैं। पब्लिक हैरान तो इस बात पर हो रही है कि उनको व्हिस्की के नाम पर जो पिलाया जा रहा था वो व्हिस्की थी ही नहीं। भारत में ज़्यादातर ब्रैंड की व्हिस्की और रम वगैरह व्हिस्की और रम होती ही नहीं। बस उस नाम से बेच दी जाती हैं। और सालों-साल से ये चला आ रहा था लेकिन अब जाकर FSSAI ने डंडा चलाया है। कि ये सब नहीं चल सकता। जिस भी शराब पीने वाले को पता चल रहा है वो सोच रहा है कि वो इतने सालों तक ये क्या पीये जा रहा था? तो हुआ क्या है वो समझने की ज़रूरत है। भारत सरकार की एक संस्था है FSSAI, ये तो शायद आप जानते होगे। खाने-पीने की चीज़ों की क्वॉलिटी वगैरह के मानक यहां से तय होते हैं। अब इसने कई मशहूर व्हिस्की और रम के ब्रैंड पर सख्ती कर दी है। सख़्ती छोड़िये कई ब्रैंड की बोतलों की तो बिक्री पर ही रोक लगा दी है। रॉयल चैलेंज, एंटीक्विटी ब्लू, बैगपाइपर, ओल्ड मॉन्क के कुछ वेरिएंट और मेकडॉवेल्स रम के भी कुछ वेरिएंट की कुछ फ़ैक्टरियों में बनी बोतलों की बिक्री पर रोक लगा दी है। क्यों? क्योंकि ये रम और व्हिस्की के नाम से बेची जा रही हैं लेकिन हैं ये सब स्पिरिट। आप अगर सोच रहे हो कि स्पिरिट तो बिना रंग के साफ़ दिखने वाली होती। जी, ये सब वही हैं, इनमें रंग और फ़्लेवर मिला कर इनको व्हिस्की या रम बोल कर बेच दिया जाता है। FSSAI का कहना है कि इनके अंदर आर्टिफिशियल या ‘नेचर आइडेंटिकल’ फ्लेवर मिलाए गए थे। Everyone is already seeing the crackdown on food and beverages by the FSSAI, but this campaign against alcohol has begun to open the eyes of alcoholics. The public is shocked to discover that what they were being offered under the guise of whiskey wasn't even whiskey. Most whiskey and rum brands in India aren't actually whiskey or rum; they're simply sold under that name. This has been going on for years, but now the FSSAI has cracked down, declaring that this can't continue. Any drinker who finds out is wondering what they were drinking all these years. So, it's important to understand what happened. You probably know that the FSSAI is an organization of the Indian government. It sets standards for the quality of food and beverages. Now, it has cracked down on several popular whiskey and rum brands. Forget about strictness, it's even banned the sale of bottles of several brands. The sale of bottles manufactured in some factories of Royal Challenge, Antiquity Blue, Bagpiper, some variants of Old Monk and also some variants of McDowell's Rum has been banned. Why? Because these are being sold in the name of rum and whisky but these are all spirits. If you are thinking that spirits are clear and without any colour. Yes, these are all the same, colours and flavours are mixed in them and they are sold as whisky or rum.
