While much of India celebrates Dussehra by burning Ravana's effigy, the people of Bisrakh follow a different tradition rooted in local religious beliefs and mythology. In this special ground report, we visit Bisrakh village to explore its connection with Ravana, the legendary king of Lanka, who is believed by local tradition to have been born here. We explore the ancient Ashtabhuji Shivling, the religious significance of Rishi Vishrava, stories associated with Ravana's devotion to Lord Shiva, and the intriguing local belief about an underground tunnel connecting Bisrakh with the Dudheshwar Nath Temple in Ghaziabad.
