These primarily came from the Sepah News Agency (the IRGC's official Telegram channel). On January 21, 2026, IRGC media released images of trucks and trailers carrying heavy military equipment on city streets at night. The caption read: “Reports and documentation of the transfer of drones and missiles in various cities across the country.” These images were taken at night, and the location was not clearly specified, but Tehran and other major cities were mentioned. These movements occurred amidst internal instability (protests, truckers' strikes, and repression), as the regime attempted to project its military power. The IRGC uses this as a form of deterrence and a show of force, particularly against the US, Israel, and internal opponents. Iran possesses "missile cities" (underground bases) where thousands of ballistic missiles (such as the Fateh, Kheibar, and Emad) are stored. These are sometimes transferred on mobile launchers (on trucks) for easier concealment and movement.
