Congress workers staged protests across several parts of the country on Friday over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Demonstrations were held in Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Lucknow, Kolkata and Dehradun, with protesters demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In Delhi, Indian Youth Congress workers were stopped by police on Jantar Mantar Road while marching towards the Election Commission office.
