News18मोटे तौर पर ये समझ लीजिये कि पैग़ंबर मोहम्मद के बाद किसी और को उनका धर्मिक वारिस नहीं मानते। और दूसरे शिया मुसलमान होते हैं जो पैंग़ंबर मोहम्मद के बाद के इमामों को उनके धार्मिक वारिस का दर्जा देते हैं। शिया मुसलमानों में एक समुदाय है जिनको ज़ैदी शिया कहते हैं। और इनके इमाम पैग़ंबर मोहम्मद के वंश के ही माने जाते थे। इन ज़ैदी शिया इमामों का राज था उत्तरी यमन के सादा में जो एक पहाड़ी इलाक़ा है इसलिए बाक़ी अरब के पूरे रेगिस्तान से वैसे भी अलग ही रहता था। दक्षिणी यमन में ब्रिटेन ने क़ब्ज़ा कर लिया था क्योंकि उसको अदन का बंदरगाह चाहिए था। क्योंकि समुद्र से ब्रिटेन से भारत आओ तो रास्ते में अदन पड़ता था। तो अदन और उसके आसपास दक्षिणी यमन का इलाक़ा ब्रिटिश राज में था। और उत्तरी यमन पर तो हज़ार साल से ज़ैदी शिया इमामों का राज था। उधर पिछली सदी में अरब के उत्तर में मक्का मदीना वाले इलाक़े में सऊद घराने ने क़ब्ज़ा करना शुरू किया। सऊद घराना सुन्नी मुसलमानों का है। तो 1932 में ऐसे पूरा सऊदी अरब का देश बन गया। तेल निकल आया था कई जगह इसलिए देशों को बॉर्डर बनाना ज़रूरी हो गया था। क्योंकि रेगिस्तान में कहीं भी तेल निकल सकता था तो कैसे तय होता कि तेल किसका है। तो बॉर्डर बनने शुरू हो गए। दक्षिण में ओमान का इलाक़ा था वो भी नक़्शे पर लकीर खींचकर एक अलग देश आधिकारिक तौर पर हो गया। और उसके पश्चिम में जो इलाक़े थे वो दो देश बन गए। Broadly speaking, they do not consider anyone else to be the religious successor of the Prophet Muhammad. Meanwhile, in the last century, the House of Saud began to occupy the Mecca and Medina region in northern Arabia. The House of Saud is Sunni Muslim. So, in 1932, the entire country of Saudi Arabia was formed. Oil had been discovered in many places, so it became necessary for countries to create borders. Since oil could be found anywhere in the desert, how could one determine whose oil it was? So, borders began to form. The Omani region to the south also officially became a separate country by drawing a line on the map.
