The future of the CBSE's three-language policy now hinges on a Supreme Court hearing. A hearing regarding this system—set to be implemented in Class 9 starting from the 2026-27 academic session—took place in court on Wednesday. The court asked for consideration regarding the possibility of granting relief to Class 6 students and also made significant observations concerning the timeline for implementing the new language policy in Class 7. The Supreme Court will now decide whether students will be required to study three languages and what provisions will apply to English. The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for September 17.
