पहले विश्व युद्ध के बाद जर्मनी के आर्थिक हालात बेहद खराब थे. पहला विश्व युद्ध शुरू करने के लिए अरबों का जुर्माना भी चुकाना पड़ा था. बेरोजगारी और आर्थिक तंगी के कारण देश में गृह युद्ध का माहौल बनने लगा था. देश में एक मजबूत सरकार की दरकार थी जो वापस अर्थव्यवस्था को पटरी पर ला सके. इसी का फायदा मिला एडोल्फ हिटलर को, जिसने इन्हीं दिक्कतों को दूर करने का वादा किया और वो जर्मनी का तानाशाह बन बैठा. After the First World War, Germany's economic situation was extremely dire. It also had to pay billions in reparations for starting the war. Due to unemployment and financial hardship, a civil war-like atmosphere began to develop in the country. There was a need for a strong government in the country that could put the economy back on track. Adolf Hitler benefited from this very situation.
