The maternity hospital in Anantnag, built in 1953, is currently facing serious challenges. A severe shortage of space and inadequate facilities have raised concerns about the safety and health of pregnant women. Originally, the hospital building was designed to accommodate around 40 beds, but at present, nearly 110 beds are being operated in the same structure. As a result, the hospital is overcrowded and struggling with space constraints.
