The valour of four Jammu and Kashmir police personnel, who laid down their lives while performing their duty for the nation, is set to receive the highest honour. On the eve of the 80th Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu approved 78 gallantry awards for the defence forces and Central Armed Police Forces. Of these, 13 awards are being conferred posthumously. Four personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police will also be honoured posthumously with the Kirti Chakra.
