शनिवार को एमए चिदंबरम स्टेडियम में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स (सीएसके) और मुंबई इंडियंस (एमआई) के बीच होने वाले इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) के 2026 मैच से पहले एमएस धोनी और रोहित शर्मा की उपलब्धता प्रशंसकों के लिए सबसे बड़ी चिंता का विषय है। मुंबई इंडियंस के मुख्य कोच महेला जयवर्धने ने कहा कि चोटिल सलामी बल्लेबाज रोहित शर्मा हैमस्ट्रिंग की चोट से उबर रहे हैं और उनकी स्थिति में लगातार सुधार हो रहा है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि टीम में उनकी नियुक्ति पर फैसला फ्रेंचाइजी की मेडिकल टीम करेगी।
रोहित, जो इस सीजन में केवल चार मैच खेल चुके हैं, हैमस्ट्रिंग की चोट के कारण पिछले चार मैच नहीं खेल पाए थे। उन्होंने शुक्रवार को चेन्नई में नेट पर बल्लेबाजी का अभ्यास किया। जयवर्धने ने मैच से पहले की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में कहा कि उनकी स्थिति में काफी सुधार हो रहा है। वह वापसी के लिए कड़ी मेहनत कर रहे हैं। मेडिकल टीम के साथ मिलकर हम हर रोज इस पर विचार कर रहे हैं। हम देखेंगे कि अगले दिन वह कैसा महसूस करता है, उसकी क्या स्थिति रहती है। उसके बाद हम फैसला लेंगे। हम आज उसे अभ्यास करते हुए भी देखेंगे। तो देखते हैं कि कल वह कैसा महसूस करता है और मेडिकल टीम हमें क्या बताती है।
चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के बल्लेबाजी कोच माइकल हसी ने कहा कि पूर्व कप्तान एमएस धोनी की पिंडली की चोट से उबरने की प्रक्रिया अच्छी चल रही है और वह जल्द ही मैदान पर वापसी करते नजर आएंगे। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि पूरा चेन्नई आईपीएल 2026 में उन्हें खेलते देखने का इंतजार कर रहा है। 42 वर्षीय धोनी सीजन शुरू होने से पहले पिंडली में लगी चोट के कारण तीन सप्ताह से मैदान से बाहर हैं। चोट से उबरने के दौरान उन्होंने विकेटों के बीच दौड़ते समय अपनी गति पर काफी काम किया है। हसी ने कहा कि उम्मीद है कि वह जल्द से जल्द वापसी करेंगे। मुझे नहीं पता कि वह कल खेलेंगे या शायद अगले मैच में, लेकिन उनकी रिकवरी में काफी तेजी से सुधार हो रहा है।
