दिल्ली कैपिटल्स के बल्लेबाज आशुतोष शर्मा ने कहा कि वह मौजूदा इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल)में फिनिशर की भूमिका निभाने का आनंद ले रहे हैं और टीम की जीत में योगदान देकर उन्हें बहुत खुशी होती है।
दिल्ली कैपिटल्स ने यहां खेले गए मैच में राजस्थान रॉयल्स पर सात विकेट से जीत हासिल की जिसमें आशुतोष ने 15 गेंदों में नाबाद 25 रन बनाकर फिनिशर की भूमिका अच्छी तरह से निभाई। इस जीत से उनकी टीम ने लगातार तीन मैचों में हार का सिलसिला तोड़ा।
आशुतोष ने मैच के बाद पत्रकारों से कहा, ‘‘मुझे अपनी टीम के लिए फिनिशर की भूमिका निभाकर अच्छा लगता है। टीम ने इन परिस्थितियों में मुझ पर भरोसा किया है और मुझे ऐसे मौकों पर खेलना पसंद है। मुझे हमेशा लगता है कि जब तक मैं क्रीज पर हूं, टीम को जीत दिला सकता हूं।’’
दिल्ली के सामने 226 रन का लक्ष्य था। केएल राहुल औरपथुम निसांका ने पहले विकेट के लिए 110 रन जोड़कर उसे अच्छी शुरुआत दिलाई।
आशुतोष ने कहा, ‘‘आजकल टी20 क्रिकेट में बहुत कुछ पहले विकेट की साझेदारी और पावरप्ले पर निर्भर करता है। हमारे सलामी बल्लेबाजों ने बहुत अच्छी शुरुआत दी। इसी वजह से हम पूरे मैच में बने रहे और आखिर में जीत हासिल कर सके।’’
इससे पहले दिल्ली के तेज गेंदबाज मिचेल स्टार्क और काइल जैमीसन ने राजस्थान के विस्फोटक सलामी बल्लेबाज यशस्वी जायसवाल और वैभव सूर्यवंशी को पहले दो ओवरों के भीतर आउट कर दिया था।
आशुतोष ने कहा, ‘‘उनके सलामी बल्लेबाजों ने पिछले मैचों में शानदार प्रदर्शन किया था और हमारा लक्ष्य उन्हें जल्दी आउट करना था। हम इसमें सफल रहे।’’
इस बीच राजस्थान रॉयल्स के बल्लेबाजी कोच विक्रम राठौड़ ने स्वीकार किया कि गेंदबाजों के खराब प्रदर्शन के कारण उनकी टीम मैच हार गई।
राठौड़ ने कहा, ‘‘हमारे गेंदबाज आज फिर से अपनी रणनीति पर अच्छी तरह से अमल नहीं कर पाए। हमें लगा था कि इस पिच पर 226 रन काफी थे। हमारे गेंदबाजों को इसका बचाव करना चाहिए था।’’
उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘जब आप इतने बड़े स्कोर का बचाव कर रहे होते हैं तो पावरप्ले में अच्छा प्रदर्शन करना महत्वपूर्ण होता है। हमने (पहले छह ओवर में) बहुत सारे रन लुटा दिए और एक भी विकेट नहीं ले पाए।’’
राठौड़ ने हालांकि कहा कि दोनों सलामी बल्लेबाजों के जल्दी आउट होने के बाद उनके मध्य क्रम ने अच्छी भूमिका निभाई जो टीम के लिए सकारात्मक पहलू है। कप्तान रियान पराग ने 50 गेंदों में 90 रनजबकि ध्रुव जुरेल ने 42 रन का योगदान दिया।
उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘हमें लगातार अच्छी शुरुआत मिल रही थी। हमारे दोनों सलामी बल्लेबाज हर मैच में अच्छा प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। इस मैच में वह नहीं चल पाए और हम उस स्थिति से जिस तरह से बाहर निकले वह अधिक महत्वपूर्ण था।
