IPL 2026 से पहले राजस्थान रॉयल्स को बड़ा झटका लगा। टीम के स्टार ऑलराउंडर सैम करन चोट के कारण पूरे टूर्नामेंट से बाहर हो गए। उनकी जगह अब श्रीलंका के अनुभवी ऑलराउंडर दासुन शनाका को टीम में शामिल किए जाने की तैयारी है। रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, इस बदलाव की औपचारिकताएं फिलहाल पूरी की जा रही हैं। शनाका पीएसएल छोड़कर आईपीएल से जुड़ेंगे। ऐसे में पीसीबी उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई कर सकता।
सैम करन को ग्रोइन इंजरी हुई है, जिसके चलते वह इस सीजन में नहीं खेल पाएंगे। गौरतलब है कि करन हाल ही में हुए बड़े ट्रेड का हिस्सा थे, जिसमें चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स और राजस्थान रॉयल्स के बीच खिलाड़ियों का आदान-प्रदान हुआ था। इस डील में सीएसके को संजू सैमसन मिला जबकि राजस्थान ने रवींद्र जडेजा और करन को अपने साथ जोड़ा था।
अब करन के बाहर होने के बाद राजस्थान ने शनाका पर भरोसा जताया। शनाका ने पाकिस्तान सुपर लीग की टीम लाहौर कलंदर्स को आईपीएल में शामिल होने के अपने फैसले की जानकारी दे दी है।
अगर शानाका के करियर की बात करें, तो वह पहले भी IPL में खेल चुके हैं। उन्होंने 2023 में गुजरात टाइटंस के लिए तीन मैच खेले थे, जिसमें उन्होंने 26 रन बनाए थे। हालांकि उनका अंतरराष्ट्रीय अनुभव काफी मजबूत है। उन्होंने श्रीलंका के लिए 131 टी20 इंटरनेशनल मैच खेले हैं, जिसमें 1912 रन बनाए और 46 विकेट भी लिए हैं।
हाल ही में हुए T20 वर्ल्ड कप में भी शानाका शानदार फॉर्म में नजर आए थे। उन्होंने ओमान के खिलाफ सिर्फ 20 गेंदों में अर्धशतक जड़ा था और पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ 31 गेंदों में नाबाद 76 रन की पारी खेली थी। इसके अलावा वह श्रीलंका टीम की कप्तानी भी कर चुके हैं, जिससे उनका अनुभव टीम के लिए काफी उपयोगी साबित हो सकता है।
राजस्थान रॉयल्स अपने आईपीएल अभियान की शुरुआत 30 मार्च को गुवाहाटी के बरसापारा स्टेडियम में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के खिलाफ मुकाबले से करेगी। इसके बाद टीम 4 अप्रैल को गुजरात टाइटंस, 7 अप्रैल को मुंबई इंडियंस और 10 अप्रैल को रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलुरु से भिड़ेगी।
दिलचस्प बात यह है कि हाल के दिनों में पीएसएल से आईपीएल में खिलाड़ियों के आने का ट्रेंड बढ़ा है। इससे पहले जिम्बाब्वे के ब्लेसिंग मुजरबानी ने भी पाकिस्तान सुपर लीग टीम को छोड़कर कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स में शामिल होने का निर्णय लिया था।
कुल मिलाकर, शनाका का राजस्थान से जुड़ना टीम के लिए एक अहम कदम माना जा रहा। अब देखना होगा कि वह इस मौके को किस तरह भुनाते हैं और टीम को कितना फायदा पहुंचा पाते हैं।
