भारत के स्टार ऑलराउंडर शिवम दुबे ने कहा कि टी20 विश्व कप सेमीफाइनल में इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ आखिरी ओवर फेंकते समय उन्होंने खुद पर भरोसा रखा और 30 रनों का बचाव करते हुए दो महत्वपूर्ण गेंदें डालने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया। दुबे ने स्वीकार किया कि वे घबराए हुए थे, लेकिन चुनौती का सामना करने के लिए तैयार थे। जैकब बेथेल पहले ही 45 गेंदों में शतक जड़ चुके थे, ऐसे में दुबे ने आत्मविश्वास पर जोर दिया, जिसने उन्हें योजना को अंजाम देने में मदद की।
बेथेल का शानदार जवाबी शतक निष्प्रभावी रहा क्योंकि गुरुवार को मुंबई के वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में आईसीसी टी20 विश्व कप के रोमांचक सेमीफाइनल में टीम इंडिया ने जुझारू इंग्लैंड को सात रनों से हराकर रविवार को अहमदाबाद में न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ होने वाले फाइनल में भारत की जगह पक्की कर ली। शिवम दुबे ने बीसीसीआई के एक वीडियो में कहा कि मैं बस खुद पर भरोसा रखना चाहता था। मुझे पता था कि ओवर की पहली दो गेंदें निर्णायक होंगी, इसलिए मेरा ध्यान उन्हें सही तरीके से फेंकने पर था क्योंकि इससे मैच का नतीजा तय हो सकता था। यह पहले ही तय हो चुका था कि मैं आखिरी ओवर फेंकूंगा। मैं निश्चित रूप से घबराया हुआ था - विश्व कप सेमीफाइनल का आखिरी ओवर फेंकना हमेशा चुनौतीपूर्ण होता है।
दुबे का आखिरी ओवर बेहद रोमांचक रहा। जैकब बेथेल पहली ही गेंद पर दूसरा रन लेने की कोशिश में रन आउट हो गए, और दुबे ने अगली दो गेंदों पर एक-एक रन देकर इंग्लैंड के लिए तीन गेंदों में 27 रन का लक्ष्य ला दिया। हालांकि दुबे ने एक वाइड गेंद फेंकी और जोफ्रा आर्चर को तीन छक्के खाने दिए, लेकिन उनकी शुरुआती तीन गेंदों ने ही भारत की जीत सुनिश्चित कर दी थी। दुबे ने भी 25 गेंदों में 43 रनों की महत्वपूर्ण पारी खेली, जिसमें एक चौका और दो छक्के शामिल थे, जिससे भारत 253 के विशाल स्कोर तक पहुंच सका।
मौजूदा चैंपियन भारत और न्यूजीलैंड रविवार, 8 मार्च को अहमदाबाद के नरेंद्र मोदी स्टेडियम में टी20 विश्व कप के फाइनल में आमने-सामने होंगे। भारत ने मुंबई में इंग्लैंड को हराकर फाइनल में जगह बनाई, जबकि न्यूजीलैंड ने कोलकाता में दक्षिण अफ्रीका को करारी शिकस्त देकर फाइनल में प्रवेश किया। दोनों टीमें 2025 में चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी के फाइनल में भी पहुंची थीं और लगभग एक साल बाद, आईसीसी प्रतियोगिता के शिखर मुकाबले में एक बार फिर आमने-सामने होंगी।
