भारतीय तेज़ गेंदबाज़ मयंक यादव ने भारत की जर्सी पहनने के लिए किए गए दो साल के इंतज़ार के बारे में बात करते हुए कहा कि वापसी वाले मैच में अपनी पहली ही गेंद पर लिए गए विकेट ने उनके लंबे और मुश्किल सफ़र को सार्थक बना दिया। 2024 में सिर्फ़ 22 साल की उम्र में भारत के लिए डेब्यू करने वाले यादव ने चोट के कारण खेल से दूर रहने के समय को एक मुश्किल लेकिन अहम दौर बताया, जिसने उन्हें एक क्रिकेटर के तौर पर निखरने में मदद की।
हालांकि, लगातार चोटों के कारण उन्हें लंबे समय तक खेल से दूर रहना पड़ा, जिससे उन्हें अपने करियर की शुरुआत में ही एक मुश्किल दौर से गुज़रना पड़ा। तेज़ गेंदबाज़ ने गुरुवार को ज़िम्बाब्वे के ख़िलाफ़ पहले T20I मैच में 'प्लेयर ऑफ़ द मैच' जैसा प्रदर्शन करके शानदार वापसी की। BCCI के पोस्ट किए गए एक वीडियो में यादव ने कहा कि ये दो साल काफ़ी लंबा समय था और मैं 'ब्लूज़' (भारतीय टीम) के लिए फिर से खेलने का बेसब्री से इंतज़ार कर रहा था। मुझे लगता है कि आज जब मैंने पहली ही गेंद पर विकेट लिया, तो उसने उन दो सालों की सारी कहानी बयां कर दी; इसलिए अब बहुत अच्छा लग रहा है। देखिए, यह बहुत मुश्किल था, लेकिन साथ ही मुझे लगता है कि यह मेरे लिए बहुत ज़रूरी भी था।
तेज़ गेंदबाज़ ने मैच की पहली ही गेंद पर ब्रायन बेनेट को आउट कर दिया। यादव ने अपनी स्किल्स और स्वाभाविक खूबियों पर भरोसा करने की अहमियत पर ज़ोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि चोट के कारण लंबे समय तक बाहर रहने के बाद दो विकेट लेना उनके लिए बड़ी राहत की बात थी, खासकर तब जब उन्होंने खुद से काफी उम्मीदें पाल रखी थीं। इस तेज़ गेंदबाज़ ने अपनी वापसी को एक भावुक पल बताया और भारतीय टीम में वापसी करने तथा तुरंत योगदान दे पाने पर खुशी ज़ाहिर की।
उन्होंने कहा कि मैं बस यही सोच रहा था कि मुझे अपनी स्किल और अपनी ताकत पर भरोसा रखना है, बस यही। मुझे राहत महसूस हो रही है क्योंकि लंबे समय से मुझ पर बहुत उम्मीदों और दबाव का बोझ था; अब जब मुझे ये दो विकेट मिले हैं और मैंने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया है, तो यह मेरे लिए बहुत बड़ी राहत की बात है। मैं टीम में वापसी करके और दोबारा खेलकर बहुत खुश हूँ; मेरे लिए यह मिली-जुली भावनाएँ हैं। यादव ने दो विकेट लिए और भारत ने ज़िम्बाब्वे को 125/7 पर रोक दिया। भारत ने 40 गेंदें बाकी रहते हुए ही लक्ष्य हासिल कर लिया और इस साल की शुरुआत में वर्ल्ड कप जीतने के बाद अपनी पहली T20I जीत दर्ज की।
