भारत में फिलिस्तीन के राजदूत अब्दुल्ला एम अबू शावेब ने भारत के हक में खुलकर पैरवी की है और साफ शब्दों में कहा है कि भारत सिर्फ 2 साल या 3 साल के लिए नहीं बल्कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद यानी कि यूएससी का स्थाई सदस्य बनने का पूरा हकदार है। फिलिस्तीन की ओर से भारत के लिए इसे खुला समर्थन माना जा रहा है। जिस मुद्दे पर भारत पिछले कई दशकों से दुनिया के सामने अपनी दावेदारी रखता आया है। अब उस पर फिलिस्तीन ने खुलकर भारत का साथ दे दिया है। दरअसल जब उनसे पूछा गया कि क्या फिलिस्तीन संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद यानी यूएनएससी में भारत की उम्मीदवारी का समर्थन करता है तो उन्होंने समर्थन ही नहीं किया बल्कि यह कहा कि अगर सुरक्षा परिषद में सुधार होना है तो भारत जैसे बड़े और प्रभावशाली देश को स्थाई सदस्य बनाया जाना चाहिए। इसके साथ ही फिलिस्तीनी राजदूत ने यह भी कहा कि आज दुनिया के ज्यादातर देश सुरक्षा परिषद में सुधार चाहते हैं और उनका मानना है कि मौजूदा व्यवस्था अब बदलनी चाहिए ताकि भारत जैसे बड़े लोकतांत्रिक और वैश्विक स्तर पर प्रभाव रखने वाले देश को स्थाई सदस्यता मिल सके।

इस बातचीत में उन्होंने भारत की उस नीति की भी तारीफ की जिसमें नई दिल्ली लगातार टू स्टेट सॉल्यूशन यानी कि दो राष्ट्र समाधान का समर्थन करती आ रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में फिलिस्तीन से जुड़े लगभग सभी प्रस्तावों का समर्थन करता है और अंतरराष्ट्रीय कानूनों के साथ खड़ा रहता है। यह बयान ऐसे वक्त में आया है जब भारत ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद यानी यूएनएससी में 2028-29 के कार्यकाल के लिए अस्थाई सदस्य बनने का अपना चुनाव अभियान आधिकारिक तौर पर शुरू कर दिया है। न्यूयॉर्क स्थित संयुक्त राष्ट्र मुख्यालय में विदेश मंत्री डॉ एस जयशंकर ने भारत की उम्मीदवारी पेश करते हुए शांति विज़न लांच किया। जहां पर विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने कहा कि आज के दौर में संयुक्त राष्ट्र की भूमिका पहले से कहीं ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण हो गई है और भारत हमेशा संवाद, कूटनीति और ग्लोबल साउथ की आवाज को मजबूत करने के लिए काम करता रहा है।

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने यह भी बताया कि भारत अब तक संयुक्त राष्ट्र के करीब 50 शांति मिशनों में लगभग 3 लाख शांति सैनिक भेज चुका है और इस समय भी लगभग 10 अलग-अलग मिशनों में 4300 से ज्यादा भारतीय शांति सैनिक तैनात हैं। जो कि दुनिया में कई संघर्षग्रस्त इलाकों में अपनी सेवाएं दे रहे हैं। यानी कि बात साफ है भारत वैश्विक शांति के लिए लगातार काम कर रहा है और अपनी जिम्मेदारी निभा रहा है। भारत इससे पहले आठ बार संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद यानी यूएसपी का स्थाई सदस्य रह चुका है। यानी 2028-29 के लिए अगर भारत को चुनाव होता है तो भारत का नौवां कार्यकाल होगा। लेकिन अब बात सिर्फ अस्थाई सदस्यता की नहीं भारत जैसे बड़े लोकतांत्रिक और तेजी से उभरते हुए वैश्विक देश को संयुक्त राष्ट्र जैसी संस्था में स्थाई सदस्यता मिलनी चाहिए। इसकी मांग लंबे समय से उठती आ रही है। सिर्फ भारत ही नहीं बल्कि कई सारे ऐसे देश हैं जो लगातार इस मांग को उठा रहे हैं और अब यूएससी की मौजूदा संरचना में बदलाव की जरूरत है।

फिलिस्तीन के राजदूत का यह बयान इसलिए और भी ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है क्योंकि उन्होंने सिर्फ भारत के मौजूदा चुनाव अभियान का समर्थन नहीं किया है बल्कि उन्होंने साफ तौर पर कह दिया है कि भारत को अब अस्थाई नहीं बल्कि सुरक्षा परिषद का स्थाई सदस्य बन जाना चाहिए। यानी कि यह बयान भारत की उस लंबे समय से चली आ रही मांग को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एक खुला समर्थन देता है। जिसमें नई दिल्ली लगातार कहती आ रही है कि आज की दुनिया में संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद की संरचना को बदलने का समय आ चुका है।
